The process involved sandwiching two photos (1 overexposed image and 1 out of focus image) with the normal one. The effect is easier in Photoshop.

There are plenty of tutorials on the internet on how to get this effect. I've tried this <a href="http://pcin.net/update/2006/11/01/the-orton-effect-digital-photography-tip-of-the-week/" target="_blank">one</a>.

2nd Day of the Batad Trip: I enjoyed the brewed coffee in Batad, it was <em>excellente</em>!

We had a complete Batad experience because of  Tappiya falls.

The falls attract thousands of visitors every year from different countries. The challenging hike was worth it. 1 hour going down and another hour going back up, depending on your pace. The trail might be challenging to some, esp. those who have balancing problem, as it goes steeper halfway down the falls.

We crossed along the village with our 2 guides and one dog named Escargot. The dog was featured in iWitness, guiding the tourists all the way to the falls. She's super friendly!

<img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-2425" title="Escargot, the Guide dog" src="http://jmyap.x10.bz/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/IMG_8434-682x1024.jpg" alt="Escargot, the Guide dog" width="570" />

<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2418" title="Tappiya Falls" src="http://jmyap.x10.bz/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/MG_8459.jpg" alt="" width="570" />

The path along the terraces was narrow that we were careful in every step we make, avoiding not to slip or else end up hurting and pulling ourselves from the mud 10 ft. below the next terrace, get hunted by the locals and pay for the pig or cow for their sacrifice. Good thing nothing happened to us.

The water was so cool and refreshing, I lost the tiredness I felt the moment I stepped into it, but I didn't stay too long, it chilled me to the bone.

Me and my friends planned to visit <a title="Things to love about Batad, Ifugao" href="http://jmyap.x10.bz/things-to-love-about-batad-ifugao.html" target="_blank">Batad</a> for 3 days. I was so excited to see the rice terraces and of course the <a title="Tappiya Falls in Batad, Ifugao" href="http://jmyap.x10.bz/tappiya-falls-in-batad-ifugao.html" target="_blank">Tappiya Falls</a>.

Before the trip, I saw an inspiring workshop (I wanted to join, but it was expensive) showcasing the beauty of Ifugao. The photos on that website are amazing that they described it as a "Stairways to the Sky".

The best month to go there is between July and August, everything will be green, not Brown.

We passed-by the viewpoints of Banaue rice terraces and took a bunch photos.
